Dear Friends,

The Seton Hall University College Republicans are proud to announce our support of Roland Straten for Congress in New Jersey’s 8th Congressional District.

With our endorsement of Straten, we join with the New Jersey College Republicans and the College Republican National Committee to demand that the Obama administration and United States Congress end their fiscal irresponsibility. College Republicans nationwide are stepping up, telling Members of Congress, the United States Senate and the Obama White House to stop putting “their debt on our tab.” To Congressman Pascrell, we say “Don’t Your Debt On Our Tab.”

Pascrell has “served” New Jersey’s 8th District since 1996. In that time, he has voted consistently with Democratic leadership to increase the size government, to increase taxes and to increase spending, setting our nation on an unsustainable path. Should Americans continue to send legislators like Bill Pascrell to Washington, D.C., America could very well become the next Greece. America is, in fact, not “too big to fail” as Democratic leaders have told us. continue reading…

Hey Everyone. I wanted to take this opportunity to share with you a joint venture between Comcast and RightNetwork.

RightNetwork, according to its Web site, is “an independently-owned media company” whose mission is “to entertain, engage, and enlighten Americans who are looking for content that reflects and reinforces their perspective and worldview. RIGHTNETWORK will consistently impact the political and cultural discussions of Americans.”

Here are a couple of their videos, available at RightNetwork.com.

This weekend, 14 Seton Hall College Republicans attended the 2010 Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington, D.C. where they heard from conservative leaders, pundits and activists all while having the opportunity to network and meet with members of conservative organizations from around the United States. Here are just a few of some of the speakers the SHUCRs had the opportunity to hear speak.

As promised, here are photographs from election night, a.k.a. “Victory Night” for Chris Christie and many Republican candidates across New Jersey.

The Seton Hall University College Republicans and the Executive Cabinet of the SHUCRs would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Governor-Elect Chris Christie and Lieutenant Governor-Elect Kim Guadagno on their decisive electoral victory last night.

Photographs of from last night’s Victory Party are to come.

If you notice the endorsement of the ad “Paid for and authorized by Victory 2009, a project of the NJDSC, 196 W State St. Trenton NJ.” Apparently, the NJDSC finds supporting Daggett, instead of Corzine, is a better use of their funding and resources.

Hey all,

As I mentioned at our last meeting, the Conservative Political Action Conference is something you should all keep in mind. Last year, I had a blast at CPAC. It is a great chance to get free stuff, hear conservative leaders speak, and have fun. Conservatives from around the nation will descend on DC for the three day event, and hopefully you will consider joining me in DC February 18th-20th at the Washington Marriott Wardman Park Hotel.

Last year, speakers included House Minority Leader John Boehner, House Minority Whip Eric Cantor, Vice President of the NRA Wayne La Pierre, Newt Gingrich, Mitt Romney, Chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Commitee, Senator John Cornyn, Congressman Pence, and Rush Limbaugh, just to name a few.

Additionally, Gary and myself have been working hard to find tours that we can bring members of our chapter on while we are in DC. Hopefully we can secure a tour of the Capitol Dome, but other options include tours of the White House, U.S. Capitol Building, Library of Congress, or Supreme Court. I cannot request these tours, however unless you are willing to travel to DC and are committed to attending CPAC.

If you are interested in attending CPAC, registration is $25 for students. It’s a real bargain because it normally costs $175 to register. I encourage everyone who is interested, to register early. When details about the conference’s speakers become available, I will let you all know who will be speaking. You can register and get more information at http://www.cpac.org If you do decide to register, and would like to attend a tour, please let me know ASAP with proof of registration and what kind of tour you would prefer. Please note, however, I cannot guarantee a tour, but I will do my best to set you up.

We are not sure if this will be an official SHUCRs event yet, as we are looking for a faculty advisor to chaperone us if we go as a club. If you would like more information, feel free to contact me with your questions.

Sincerely,

Brenden Higashi
