Hey everyone, it’s election day. School board and school budgets are up for a vote today.

I urge every one of you to get out and vote “no” on your budget and then push the button for the most fiscally responsible people running for board. I.e. not the incumbents.

Today’s quote of the day goes to State Senator Michael Doherty (R- Washington Township), a staunch conservative, who is backing moderate Congressman Leonard Lance for reelection over a more conservative challenger in the primary.

When asked why, Doherty had this to say: “there are better targets to go after. Democrats, for instance.”

What party are you registered as?

Well Vincent Markowski didn’t know he was a registered Democrat until Bob Yudin told him.  That’s right.  Markowski filed paperwork with the BCRO to seek the party endorsement for Bergen Sheriff only to receive a call from Chairman Yudin informing him that he is a registered Democrat!

You, Mr. Markowski, get the LOL of the day.

Hey guys,

My good friend Conor Rogers runs a website called ThePoliticizer.com which is a political commentary site geared towards the internet generation (us), you should read it regularly.

He posted a particularly interesting piece on Senator Scott Brown’s moderate streak that we should all read.  Sure, Scott is still the 41st vote on healthcare, but we must not assume he is the 41st vote on everything.  Link is below.

School board elections are often overlooked yet they are very important. The school budget makes up a sizable chunk of most municipal taxes that burden residents. This year, Seton Hall CRs is proud that one of their own, Matt Gilson, will be seeking a seat on the Board of Education in his hometown of Rutherford. The election, to be held April 20th, will be for three seats. None of the incumbents have indicated yet whether they will seek election. He has cited a need for smarter spending and an end to failing programs as his main reasons for running. Let us all offer whatever we can to our fellow CR in his campaign, this is a great opportunity to show that CRs can make a difference.
