This weekend, 14 Seton Hall College Republicans attended the 2010 Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington, D.C. where they heard from conservative leaders, pundits and activists all while having the opportunity to network and meet with members of conservative organizations from around the United States. Here are just a few of some of the speakers the SHUCRs had the opportunity to hear speak.

Ladies and Gentlemen,
It is my pleasure to announce the following speakers for CPAC, click on their names for more information on them:
Opening address: Hon. Marco Rubio (Candidate for US Senate in Florida)
Closing address: Glenn Beck
The rest are after the jump!
The final cost for CPAC comes to $90 per person. We cannot pay for the hotel rooms until you have paid your portion of the rooms because we need to have the money in our account before we can get final authorization to book the room. Please pay Rickey Santussuo (richard.santosusso@student.shu.edu) as soon as possible. We would like to book the hotel rooms next Monday, so try to get us the money before then. If you are unable to pay the $90 before then, please contact myself or Rickey asap so we can try to work something out. As a reminder, you are responsible for your registration fees, which you should have already paid, as well as food, drink and any transportation fees you incur in DC itself (mainly the Metro). Also, the plan is to carpool to DC and back. Expect to leave Seton Hall Wednesday, Feb. 17th and return Saturday, Feb 20th.
Speaking of CPAC, conservative comedian P.J. O’Rourke gave a great speech at the convention back in 1995, I believe. This one is a gem and I hope we can see a speech half as good in February.
Replace “Clinton” with “Obama” and you have a great commentary on today’s outlook!

CPAC (Conservative Political Activist Conference) will be February 18-20th 2010 in Washington DC.
We are putting in a program proposal for $2K from the Finance Committee/SGA. The main expenses are going to be food, transportation, hotels and registration. If we can get most of it covered (aka hotels) by the school then you’re looking at spending around $125 total. If we don’t get it covered the price will go up considerably since hotels are going to be pricey. Either way we will fundraise and this is going to be a great event. Gary and Brenden have lots of connections for tours and anyone interested in politics at all will really get a lot out of this!
Important: In order to ask for money from the Finance Committee we need a list of people who are seriously committed on going…meaning you MUST register for this event BEFORE Thanksgiving Break. Once you register please forward your registration info to brenden.higashi@student.shu.edu.
