One writer from the New York Post was proved outrageously wrong in his assessment of Sarah Palin this week.
The article, which cited a (conveniently) anonymous “insider” said that Palin’s speech tours “weren’t selling well” because she is an “idiot.”
First and most importantly–bad journalism much? Using an anonymous opinion from a single person to carve out a narrative? Hey, I could do that to manufacture negative buzz on any politician I want!
Furthermore, it couldn’t be further from the truth: Sarah has over a thousand speaking invitations as of last month and gave an excellent speech last week that touched on a range of topics from the monetary policy of the Federal Reserve to the underlying philosophy of traditional conservatism.
Her new book, “Going Rogue: An American Life,” scheduled for a November 17th release, has only been on pre-order for a few days and has already topped both Amazon’s and Barnes and Noble’s best-seller lists. Yes, it’s beating Ted Kennedy’s biography.
I’ll up the New York Post writer’s “anonymous insider” with one from Politico: “[I] cannot remember a non-fiction book taking off like this in the pre-order market. It became number one only a couple of hours after nothing more than a date announcement. It is truly unprecedented.”
